This position performs direct support for multiple growth potential products including SDWAN, iQ+ and DCI 1.0/2.0.
Performs engineering work and design implementation relating to Network Management Service maintenance functions.
Includes participation in the development of plans and schedules, evaluation and modification of configurations on customer premise equipment ranging from small routers to large optical switches.
Involved mainly with monitoring and responding to proactive alarms and customer direct support calls.
Analyzes equipment and establish operating data.
Handles moderately complex engineering assignments. The requisite level of technical knowledge regarding network design is greater than that expected of Sales Engineers.
Helps customers and account teams move smoothly from concept to implementation by helping to determine and develop the information needed to execute quickly and professionally.
Make some configuration changes in response to customer needs/requests.
Interfaces with other CenturyLink departments as a customer advocate to resolve issues.
Provides customer with ongoing status updates during trouble resolution activities.
Makes recommendations based on customer expectations.
Provides guidance to others and is proactive in learning new technologies.
Need to be flexible in hours worked and be available for an on-call rotation and on-call back-up.
Performs primary support functions for SDWAN. Including providing full end to end support for customer networks and support.
Acts as primary contact for iQ+ networking product.
This includes full end to end customer agency for iQ+ customers and acts on behalf of the customer in coordinating all repair and configuration activities.
Will provide support and interaction for DCI/DCI2.0 customers utilizing CTL Datacenter services. This includes coordinating efforts with Equinix, Microsoft Azure and other datacenter services.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
6+ Years applicable engineering experience involving WAN Transport such as: MPLS, ATM/FR, MOE, and/or IP.
4+ Years with a Masters Degree.
Expert knowledge of layers 1-3 of the OSI model
Working knowledge of layers 4-7 of the OSI model
Knowledge of IP routing protocols.
Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Previous network management experience with HPNAS, Concord, and/or Visionael, Visio diagrams, eHealth and EMC Ionix a plus.
Experience implementing, modifying, and troubleshooting VPN, Firewall, and Remote Access solutions.
Understanding of how BGP works.
CPE hardware certification (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE) with configuration experience with Cisco IOS, Adtran, Juniper and other hardware Vendors.
Knowledge of QoS, specifically for Voice and Video.
Expert knowledge of BGP
Knowledge of how to advertise and filter Networks within BGP.
Experience configuring LLQ, CQWFQ and CAR.
How to apply these queuing strategies for Frame-Relay, ATM, Ethernet or DIA connections.
Cisco security strategies. Including filtering, using ACLs and Router Firewall Feature-set, setting up SSH, configuring connectivity to RADIUS/TACACS servers.
Expert Knowledge of IP Routing Protocols.
Configure VPNs’ between Cisco Routers (with or without GRE), Router to PIX, and Router to Checkpoint Firewall. Troubleshoot VPNs’, and determine if working to design specifications.
