The Sr. Analyst of Database Marketing Operations is responsible for the quality, accuracy, and delivery of consumer intelligence data processing and reporting to support the Consumer Marketing organization.
This position is critical in maintaining the quality and efficiency of information within Consumer Marketing infrastructure. Responsibilities include delivering code, conducting research, and checking quality control and assurances that will result in high quality data processing and data integrity.
This position will help incorporate the processes that will result in accelerated sales, increased market awareness and high levels of customer loyalty. The position is instrumental in helping maximize revenue and profitability through contribution to or ownership of targeting strategies designed to acquire, grow and retain consumer customers.
The position is accountable for a variety of functions that require business acumen, marketing knowledge, understanding/management of internal processes, strong technical acumen, a functional understanding of relational databases, and knowledge of technological trends.
Partner in a team environment or be able to independently design, develop, code, test and debug new software or significant enhancements to existing software of moderate complexity. Develop solutions across many disciplines and be responsible for explaining solutions and procedures. Apply principles, theories and concepts and use methodologies, tools, documentation processes and test procedures to complete projects related to moderately complex software.
Implements various programs for the purpose of enhancing and updating an Oracle environment
Tasks may include designing and coding programs and testing and documenting changes and enhancements of data processes from primary Oracle/ Unix Data environments
Analyzes data requests for the purpose of assisting integration with current marketing applications
Tasks may include project implementation, researching and evaluating problems, and recommending and implementing decisions
Conducts training for the purpose of providing technical expertise to end users
Tasks may include training for System Operator/Programmer, providing user activity education, and one-on-one support
Navigates, collects, and organizes large and detailed data sets like online mapping tools, internal Oracle databases, marketing reports and ad hoc analyses in support of various internal clients.
Integrates the data from these various sources and creates complete portfolios of decision support tools for marketing and sales requests.
Execution of data extracts from primary Oracle/UNIX data environments via SQL and/or SAS
Working closely with Database Architecture resources to understand database requirements
Assisting in data sourcing and data integration discussions, including vendor/contract management
Utilization of Intake, Campaign, and Self Service tool requirements
Assisting Analytics teams with data access, use-ability, and extracts
Administration of campaign tools
Consultation with Consumer end users as the primary SME on data requests and delivery options
Working closely with Campaign Operation managers to implement primary sales initiatives in operational tool sets.
Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of professional experience
Experience/knowledge in Unix, Oracle, PL/SQL, Perl, KornShell
3-5 years’ experience in database marketing , in IT, preferably with BI applications environment
Advanced Skills in various Database extracts leveraging PL / SQL, Perl, Kornshell
High level knowledge of relational datamart strategy
Expertise in one or several B2C specialties, such as: strategic planning, qualitative & quantitative research, database marketing, IT, segmentation.
Ability to work effectively in teams and independently; strong organizational and project management abilities, strong analytical and critical thinking and innovative problem solving skills.
Requires strong work ethic, ability to work independently and strategically on complex, long-term projects.
Strong interpersonal skills are required to help with communication, team support and team effectiveness
Strong interest/knowledge of marketing technology, predictive modeling, and big data applications
Requires a desire to learn and grow with Marketing Technology as the industry transforms.
Must be elgibible to work within the United States without sponsorship.
5+ years of database experience with a Master's Degree
3 + years’ experience with Qlikview, Tableau, or other BI Dashboard
Ability to break down complex problems into manageable goals
Experience data modeling and analyzing data within a data warehouse environment to support specific marketing plans
Strong Excel skills and ability to demonstrate experience in forecasting and measuring results
Knowledge of telecom industry
Bachelors or Equivalent in Marketing or Other
Masters or Equivalent in Marketing or Other
