Position Overview :

The Senior Lead Field Marketing Manager (FMM) is responsible for driving marketing campaigns and programs that increase the sales funnel and ultimately lead to acquiring new customers and to up-selling new strategic and managed services to existing accounts. This position will develop and deliver tactics that drive high utilization and significant, measurable results from marketing programs in order to move prospects and customers through the sales cycle to meet CenturyLink’s sales and revenue targets. The FMM role will support the CenturyLink Enterprise sales organization in a fast-paced environment that requires both marketing and sales expertise.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive marketing programs from collaborating in planning, to scheduling, to execution, and through results tracking.

  • Develop and execute communications plans to ensure that Sales is aware of marketing programs, product launches, sales enablement activities, and other top priorities.

  • Ensure adoption and participation in marketing campaigns and the related use of marketing automation tools by sales professionals; develop and deliver actions plans for improvement in adoption as needed.

  • Manage a formal feedback process to provide field input on programs and promotions to product and segment marketing teams.

  • Drive lead generation activities to increase lead conversion rates (i.e., conversion of leads into sales funnel opportunities) to meet overall revenue targets. Pilot new demand generation programs.

  • Track lead generation results using Salesforce.com. Communicate these results, identify and address issues affecting prompt follow-up on leads and/or lead quality concerns, and identify opportunities for improvement to sales and marketing leadership.

  • Develop, manage, and track results from a regional field marketing program budget.

  • Participate in and/or lead special projects on an as-needed basis.

  • Serve as an expert on at least one industry vertical by developing an understanding of common IT challenges and business concerns in that industry. Apply this knowledge to designing, planning, and executing programs to increase the effectiveness of Sales when pursuing sales conversations and proposing services to this vertical.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years’ progressive marketing and other work experience

  • Quota-bearing sales experience or equivalent

  • Experience managing multiple vendor relationships

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with developing and supporting marketing metrics and reporting on measures of success such as Program ROI

  • Experience developing and managing a large marketing budget (>$400k)

  • Verbal and written communication skills appropriate for supporting Regional Sales VP and presenting to C-Level customers & prospects of organizations with 1,000+ employees.

  • Proven track record of successfully partnering with and supporting sales management

  • Experience with developing integrated, multi-touch marketing plans including lead generation programs

  • Product knowledge in enterprise hosting, managed services, cloud services (eg., IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS) combined with strong solution selling knowledge

  • Experience with sales and marketing automation systems Salesforce.com and Marketo

  • Strong team player with a positive attitude

  • Travel 20-30%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post graduate study or degree preferred

  • Technical sales, sales engineering, or product management experience strongly preferred

  • Sales management experience preferred
