Resource as an Access Planner Technical SME
Cross functional interface to work through and resolve issues with Engineering, Transport, Data, CSPEC etc,
Develop plans and ensure implementation of Outside Plant network facilities within a specific geographic area, typically using standard configurations and network planning rules.
Interface with Engineering and use multiple planning tools, consider field conditions, customer demand, technical and engineering requirements as well as budgetary considerations to analyze data, evaluate alternative solutions and develop cost effective network plans for capacity requirements.
Ensure Planning records and systems remain accurate for the geographical area of responsibility.
Manage feeder portion of Wire Centers, composed of fiber, copper cables and digital loop carrier (DLC).
Develop Fireworks documents to define tasks, resources, and equipment requirements for Engineering work orders to determine accurate project costs and obtain appropriate funding.
Serve as central point of contact in responding to and resolving all Planning issues relating to outside plant within area of responsibility.
Project manage in an efficient and effective manner to ensure tasks, milestones, and goals meet defined timelines and satisfy customer service requirements.
Applicable Planning experience and knowledge of cross functional dependencies.
Must be a self-starter and able to work under limited supervision as well as highly effective time management skills to accomplish a wide variety of tasks.
Strong written and verbal communications skills are required as well as the ability to be flexible and work well within a group. Need to be able to structure and convey ideas and information, both verbally and written, in a concise, effective and persuasive manner to bring clear understanding of projects.
Ability to read construction work prints and interpret work prints in order to create accurate facility requirements. Be able to translate conceptual and verbally articulated project specifications and requirements.
Identify and analyze customer needs (specifications, requirements, etc.) to formulate viable economic design solutions based on resources, costs, and business impact.
Interact with customers, developers, government officials, business office groups, and other partners to plan and review work, share technical and project information, communicate project progress, assess service delivery, and manage the accurate and timely completion of projects.
Interact with various company databases such as OSP-FM, COE-FM, Fireworks, RTT, TIRKS, LFACS, etc.
Ability to navigate through, toggle between, and/or input information into multiple systems and/or applications.
Demonstrate high personal work standards and ethics in all assignments and customer interactions.
Utilize Excel to create spreadsheets, input and manage data, and analyze reports.
Utilize Word to create, edit, format, and save business documents and reports.
Experience using internal engineering applications such as OSP-FM, COE-FM, Fireworks, RTT, LFACS, TIRKS
Engineering degree or 2 years equivalent work experience
Two years Planning or Engineering experience.
