Project Management Intern

(12 month university sandwich year placement)

Job Responsibilities:

The Project Management Internship includes support of our Project Management Office function (PMO) that manages Infrastructure projects, programmes and transitions for our customers. The role will involve supporting the Project Managers in the management of projects, working with the PMO Lead to develop the Project Practice Framework including Operating Models, Governance, Financials and Quality. This will address things such as audit of project documentation and maintenance of lessons learnt from projects and the subsequent improvements to the way we manage delivery.

  • Assist PMO Lead in reviewing and improving project governance, reporting and controls.

  • Coordinate consolidation of project reports into programme and dashboard level reporting.

  • Work with Project Managers to ensure project reports are fit for purpose.

  • Support PMO Manager in tracking and reporting on defined KPIs.

  • Work with PMO Lead to implement improved project processes and reporting.

  • Provide PMO support to Project Managers on large projects and programmes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A good working knowledge of MS Office and be numerate and literate.

  • The ability to troubleshoot and resolve a variety of project and process issues.

  • The ability to meet deadlines, good attention to detail and accuracy of reporting.

  • Ability to multi-task and work multiple deliverables simultaneously.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be an undergraduate studying towards a qualification where a student placement is needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An understanding of Project Management Methods.

  • A broad understanding of technology and infrastructure.

  • A knowledge of MS Project and MS Sharepoint.
