Lead Procurement Data Analyst
This position will act as an internal consultant and continuous improvement specialist throughout the Procurement, Purchasing, and Logistics organizations. Individuals in this role should expect to have opportunities to make changes that ultimately could result in millions of dollars of benefits. The individual will use data analysis, SME interviews, and their own business acumen to identify opportunities and ensure they are properly implemented. In addition to a strong analytical mind, the individual must possess strong people skills and emotional intelligence to be able to influence stakeholders throughout the organization to take actions that will result in the best outcome for the company.
Work is typically project based and varies substantially project to project; the individual will need to be able to adapt quickly and think critically across a broad range of topics. Individuals in this role can expect to work on a broad range of projects, from evaluating cutting edge technologies, to analyzing spend data to identify additional savings opportunities, to making changes to physical processes and managing the ensuing change management.
Specific Duties & Tasks:
Ability to manipulate, combine, and refine large sets of data using Microsoft Excel
Must be able to use Microsoft Excel to extract meaningful conclusions from data, creating comprehensive and well-reasoned analyses that can in turn be leveraged to identify opportunities, prove hypothesis, and/or inform decisions being made.
Must be able to think critically to identify opportunities by reviewing processes, analyzing data, and leveraging business acumen
Thorough background in a broad range of business topics in order to identify new opportunities and incorporate best practices throughout the organization.
Ability to create clear, persuasive PowerPoint presentations targeting upper level leaders
Ability to manage small and medium sized projects. This includes initial project planning, resource management, stakeholder management, etc.
Document, market and train teams on Procurement best practices
Responsible for the development and maintenance of knowledge management across the procurement organization
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence required. Must be able to successfully interact, inform, and influence across all levels of the organization, from high level leaders to entry level warehouse employees.
Basic Qualifications, Skills and Education: (required – must have to be considered for the position)
-Minimum of 5 years work experience performing similar duties or clear proof of consistent high performance and upward movement in prior roles.
-Project Management experience
-Experience in continuous improvement activities of some kind
-Strong Microsoft Excel skills
-Experience creating presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
-Analytical and Problem-Solving skills
-Ability to work with multiple, concurrent projects and strict timeline
-Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal business users and external customers
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Education: (preferred – not required)
-Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement/efficiency certifications
-Master’s Degree in Business or related field
-Procurement/Supply Chain experience
