Job Summary

This is a Project Manager position responsible for supporting a large Professional Services customer. This role will provide oversight, accountability, and escalation management for contracted committed delivery dates. As the project manager, this position will build partnerships with all departments including Product Management, Service Delivery, Sales/Sales Support, Network Operations and Field Tech Operations.

Job Description

  • Manage CenturyLink deliverables (i.e. turnover packages)

  • Ensure documentation timeliness, completeness and accuracy, i.e. LOA/CFA (Letter Of Authority, Customer Facility Assignment), DLR (Design Layout Record) Completion notification, test results and technical drawings

  • Work with vendors and Customers staff to coordinate and facilitate excellent recordkeeping and communication

  • Conduct regular, critical project updates and business reviews with Customer network acquisition and delivery management teams

  • Create Gantt charts, critical milestone identification plans, risks and mitigation plans

  • Work closely with the Customer network acquisition and delivery management teams to establish best practices regarding project management, communications and reporting

  • Create comprehensive project plans, reports, and performance metrics such as: risk management plan, communications plan, procurement management plan, change control plan, responsibility assignment matrix, change control board contact plan

  • Regularly spend time at Customer offices with the network acquisition and delivery management teams to ensure alignment regarding project timelines and delivery commitments

  • Works in a culture of respect and collaboration

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience. Typically with 8-10 years related experience.

  • Telecommunications technical & product knowledge (Managed Optical Fiber Networks / DWDM technologies / Outside Plant / Fiber, Transport/Waves, MPLS, Managed Services

  • Strong communication skills: listening, oral, written and presentation

  • Reporting, metrics and analytical skills

  • Self-starter with desire to innovate

  • Ability to manage change, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to travel

  • Preferred Qualification

  • Minimum 8 years industry experience

  • PMP certification

  • Process/Product/System knowledge (Salesforce, Netbuild, Service Delivery Systems)

  • Understanding of business process improvement
