Job Summary

The Product Manager(PM) will lead networking solutions and associated agreements for Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). The Product Manager will be responsible for the day to day successful operations of the CPEaaS Product which allows CenturyLink Customers to purchase CPE from CenturyLink on a term basis of 12, 24 and 36 months. Responsible for understanding CPE equipment purchasing, CPE maintenance and CPE labor for installation purposes. The PM will be responsible for making sure that all orders are submitted correctly, processed and delivered correctly to the Customer. Overall responsible for a detailed understanding of product costs that will allow the business unit to achieve established annual revenue targets. The person in this position will be required to closely align themselves with Sales, Billing, Operations and IT to drive success

Job Description

  • Manages specific Customer CPEaaS purchases of CPE, CPE Maintenance and Labor from quote to cash.

  • Able to manage day to day operations supporting $2.5M MRR in Revenue.

  • Able to manage and execute on $100K to $5M size deals for CPE procurement.

  • Willing to support annual revenue growth of 10-20% and maintaining high EBITDA requirements

  • Gathers, evaluates and defines scope for customer CPE requirements by working with Sales Engineering, Solution Architects and Network Operations teams. Assist with the design of customer requests, coordination of equipment installation and implementation, and responding to customer technical questions and requests.

  • Responsible for making sure that all billing is accurate and on time for customer orders.

  • Responds to proposals and sales requests, and translates into detailed business cases, business requirements and customer contracts as well as coordinates requirement acceptance among program stakeholders.

  • Negotiates business terms and conditions for customer and vendor contracts. Responsible for vendor management including sourcing, pricing, and daily ‘deal-by-deal’ negotiations for select services.

  • Supports implementation of all aspects of customer networking opportunities, including pricing, customer targeting, contracts, product positioning and program thresholds.

  • Works with key stakeholders across the entire company including: Service Delivery, Service Management, Network Engineering and Planning, Provisioning, Sales Operations, IT, Product Development, Customer Service, and Billing.

  • Provide input to CPE strategy and creates tactical plans to deliver program roadmap. Contributes ideas and recommendations toward CPE products, process and system improvements.

  • Responsible for continuous improvement of the CPEaaS Product by finding ways to better service our Customers, accelerate delivery of the solution, provide accurate billing, and providing best possible Customer experience.

  • Supports business case development and ongoing program financial reviews to ensure the project financials (costs and revenues) are achieved. Manage revenue and segment income accountability.

  • Benchmarks company products to competitor products. Stays up-to-date with industry news, company consolidations and competitive landscape.

  • Ensures supporting processes and systems associated with the product are current and optimized to reduce product cost basis.

  • Provide comprehensive 4 – Ps approach to product line oversight, ensure business efficiency including pricing coordination, process work, product placement, marketing promotion coordination, technology refresh, and underlying costs basis management.

  • Provides leadership and direction to a wide range of organizations in areas such as: overall product performance, market needs assessment and decisions, product roadmaps, profitability decisions, and escalated issue resolution.

  • Provides monthly product performance reports to management. Supports sales teams questions relating to the product.

  • Provides support to Customers in terms of acquiring the CPE at the end of the contract.

  • Provides annual reporting on product performance, product results and recommendations.

  • Develop assets to assist sales teams in consultatively selling the product including materials such as competitive assessment, pricing comparison, presentations for customer needs matches to the portfolio, and SWOT assessments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or 4-7 years equivalent experience in the Telecommunications industry related to CPE product development

  • Be creative and pro-active at solving Customers issues.

  • Strong experience with Telecommunications technology and services is essential.

  • Able to execute on a set of deliverables by thinking independently and communicating effectively across a matrixed organization.

  • Willingness to roll up the sleeves and drive projects to completion.

  • Highly motivated with a strong technical aptitude to understands CPE dynamics and recommend product enhancements.

  • Strong communication (oral and written), analytical, decision making, negotiating, time management, problem solving and organizational skills.

  • Ability to effectively negotiate agreements such as RFP’s, MSA’s and SOW’s.

  • Ability to perform cost analysis and executive level reporting.

  • Strong financial skills and analytic competence.

  • Experience with leading large cross-functional development teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio) applications.

  • Strong billing experience

  • Strong order processing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or 7-10 years equivalent experience in the Telecommunications industry related to CPE product development

  • Extensive hands on CPE experience within the telecommunications industry.

  • Experience with Vendor Management.

  • Exhibits a strong sense of urgency, makes fact-based decisions quickly and efficiently,

  • Experience with business market segment including understanding of customer needs.

  • Strong and effective communicator across the business to drive continuity

  • Drives creativity and productivity by displaying a positive, “can do” attitude

  • Thrives in a fast paced, self-learning environment.
