CenturyLink is seeking a Project Manager III – Federal defines initial project based on customer requirements to include, schedule planning and implementation, customer onboarding and relationship management between internal and external stakeholders. This position supports both ECS & IPSS programs in providing project management support to mitigate cyber intrusions onto CenturyLink’s ISP network in support of US Government networks.
The Main Responsibilities
Provides leadership and coordination for assigned projects using a matrix team concept.
•Attends various internal, governmental, and general meetings.
•Provides inputs to written monthly reports to Customers.
•Manages and coordinates projects from design through as-built delivery.
•Performs Quality Control (QC) on documentation for assigned projects.
•Identifies all problem areas/risks on jobs and discusses with Team Members and others as needed; implement mitigation strategies for risk.
•Keeps detailed records of daily work/project activities for future reference.
•Ensures the successful completion of customer project requirements.
•Coordinates subcontractors, materials, inspectors, tools and equipment to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
•Identifies problems with project processes and recommends/implements solutions to resolve or improve processes.
•Plan, execute, and finalize project according to strict deadlines and within budget, including acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver project according to plan.
•Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management and stakeholders.
•Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
•Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
•Draft and submit budget proposals and monthly forecast, and recommend budget changes where necessary.
•Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants.
•Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
•Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
•Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
•Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
•Develop and manage integrated master project schedule in conjunction with project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
•Develop and present detailed monthly schedule analysis and schedule risk reports; progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
•Brief executive management on the status/health of the program.
•Develop best practices and tools for project tracking, execution, and management.
•Overtime may be required in meeting project deadlines.
What We Look For in a Candidate
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
•At least 3 years’ direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
•Ability to demonstrate proficiencies working with spreadsheets and multi-level/multi-dependency MS Project schedules.
•Background in telecommunications and Inside Plant/Data Centers.
•Background in government documentation program deliverables.
•Must possess a clean driving record.
•Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation).
•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
•Two or more years with experience MS Project.
Candidate must be a US Citizen with an active Department of Defense TOP SECRET clearance.
