Long Description

Primary Responsibilities:

Act as a Technical Project Leader for a private managed DWDM network.

This includes:

  • Performing non standard software upgrades

  • Advanced technical fault isolation and resolution

  • Provide guidance and direction for capacity deployment and system augmentation

  • Interact with vendor technical support as liaison on specific deployment and network issues.

  • Independently plans and carries out assignments of a Technical nature in conformance with accepted policies and practices, often influencing others who are not direct reports.

  • Responsibility will include acting on behalf of customer with service providers and vendors for network changes, augments and configuration changes.

  • Acts as consultant to leadership detailing the technical requirements and actions necessary to obtain solutions.

  • Support private network in customer specified equipment deployment.

  • The equipment, software versions and services supported on the private network are not supported within the CTL network and is expected to continue to support the advance network requirements.

  • Performs all network augments, software upgrades, provisioning and service activations for the private network.

  • This includes all after hours technical support for the network and requires an intimate understanding and knowledge of the network and its current deployment.

  • Interacts with internal CTL organizations as SME, providing support and guidance to CTL teams requiring equipment support.

  • Exercises considerable latitude in decision-making under limited consultative direction toward complex problem resolution.

  • Act as Technical Network liaison for all aspects of the private network.

  • Regarded as subject matter expert in applied research, problem determination and resolution of complex issues.

  • Will represent the PSCC organization while working directly with clients, suppliers and CenturyLink employees in pursuit of problem resolution and service recovery plans on customer specific services platforms, namely Cisco.

  • Will act as SME/SPOC for all activities involving the growth and expansion of a private network, to include future equipment deployments.

  • SPOC for customer specific network issues on vendor platform.

  • Requirement to develop skill set to act as SME for platform services delivery, support and restoration activities.

  • Will participate in client meetings.

  • Expected business travel is 30% or less for planning and engineering.


  • Consulting Level Bachelor's degree.

  • Typically with 8+ years of experience.

  • 6+ years of experience with Master's Degree.

  • Ability to travel as needed.
