The Sr Supply Chain Operations Analyst is responsible for the performance of CenturyLink’s Third-Party Freight Payment Provider that performs auditing and processing of over $50M of freight invoices annually in accordance with contract requirements and documented procedures. This individual will interact with CenturyLink’s Third-Party Freight Transportation Providers, freight carriers, and parcel provider to resolve issues. The Sr Supply Chain Operations Analyst supports cross functional groups by performing analysis, preparing reports, tracking budgets, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Works with internal organizations such as Accounting, Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain Management on issues related to the payment of freight invoices and the associated accounting coding.
Manipulates very large spreadsheets of shipping and invoice data. This includes querying, reporting, and analyzing shipping detail.
Manages the weekly fallout/exception data files to ensure timely payment of invoices to carrier Net Terms.
Evaluates, updates, and documents procedures with Freight Bill Audit and Pay Provider and identifies programming enhancements to reduce weekly exception volumes and improve upon processes.
Identifies non-compliant Supplier situations and develops corrective action plans to ensure CenturyLink’s shipping and invoicing procedures are properly followed.
Assists in the RFP process for Freight Bill Audit and Pay services, including updating the Statement of Work, collaborating with Sourcing, conducting potential Supplier assessments, and if applicable, the implementation of a new Freight Bill Audit and Pay provider.
Performs cost analysis and metrics reporting. Manages the performance of CenturyLink’s Third-Party Freight Bill Audit and Payment Provider and leads Quarterly Business Reviews.
Becomes a subject matter expert on carrier contracts to successfully perform internal invoice audits on a regular basis.
Quickly and efficiently prioritizes and resolves shipping issues that may involve packaging, damage, loss, late or miss-delivered shipments, and billing errors.
Responsible for developing and maintaining productivity and performance reports, trend analysis, and delivering to expected SLA’s.
5+ years related experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Supply Chain and Forecasting experience
Comprehensive understanding of transportation (freight and parcel) operations, rate structures, contracts, 3PL operations, and Freight Bill Audit and Pay processes and systems
Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
Analytical / problem solving skills
Project Management skills a plus
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Continuous improvement mindset, familiar with lean principles
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and solve issues
Strong computer skills including Access, Excel, and Microsoft Office Programs
Ability to maintain accuracy and strong attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to organize workload and quickly adapt to change to meet business needs
Familiarity with Accounting Principles
