The Customer Solution Design Engineer III is a subject matter expert for managed services. Evaluating orders to determine best design. Creates network configuration templates for the team based on CenturyLink engineering standards. The CSDE III engages the customer and account team to resolve complex issues. The CSDE III provides leadership to the team by demonstrating a commitment to high quality and productivity standards.
Provides complex conceptual and tactical solutions to customers networking requirements.
Optimizes existing designs by demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Manages a work queue of provisioning orders; meeting metric performance for all tasks; completing designs/configurations on-time and correctly.
Provides technical expertise and team leadership during difficult scenarios affecting: order delivery success; customer experience; and business continuity.
Provides timely written status updates in the ordering systems; sets appropriate jeopardy status and engages appropriate resources to overcome obstacles which impeding order progress.
Provides training and job shadowing support to peers through: OJT, classroom training, and job aides.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of the telecommunications industry
Tasked with designing customer networks (WAN, LAN, VOIP, etc.)
Manage the deliverables on complex customer design projects
Pro-actively drive the development of the engineering solutions and templates for complex and tactical solutions; while meeting order commitment dates.
Resolves complex issues obstructing on-time delivery of service to our customers.
Overcoming obstacles caused from inside and outside the provisioning team.
Ability to work well with team members and the ability to take directions requests from multiple sources.
Advanced proficiently within windows based applications.
Innate ability to thrive and accept changing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to effectively, professionally and pro-actively communicate with front line employees, management and when called upon, upper level management.
Ability to pro-actively manage issues and drive resolution without receiving or receiving minimal direction from peers/management.
Knowledge of processes and systems that are used on a daily basis within the team.
Ability to work within a team environment and be able to adapt quickly to change.
Experience: 7+ yrs
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Field Of Study: Engineering or Related Field
A combination of education and experience is acceptable: Yes
Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
