The Role

We are looking for the best of the best sales professionals who will go to amazing lengths to solve the business problems of their clients by leveraging the IT solutions (IT platform, transformation and managed services) that we support within our IT Agility portfolio. CenturyLink’s cloud and managed services arm is changing the way that large enterprises assess and procure the platform and services that keep them productive. We combine a significant local presence with an expansive global network and managed security services to keep our clients connected and secured, wherever business happens. The Sr Account Director demonstrates unique value by supporting our direct CenturyLink sales team with product and process expertise in our IT Agility offerings of cloud collaboration (Private Cloud, Public Cloud, Cloud Manager, Cloud Connect), Managed Hosting, Data Centers, SAP Ecosystem, Resiliency Services, Transition Management, Managed Services, Strategy and Systems Consulting.

This is a sourcing requisition for anticipated openings in Q3/Q4

The Main Responsibilities

• Analyze market trends, define penetration strategies to address opportunities, engage with sales, partners and advisors

• Drive account management responsibilities as an overlay sales specialist including solution creation, solution offering, configuration management, order issuance, service delivery, service management, and revenue recognition

• Balance strategic and tactical thought leadership

• Identify, bid on, negotiate and close new sales opportunities in order to meet and exceed established sales and revenue quotas

• Provide comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business from new and/or existing accounts

• Ensure overall win themes, solution, financials, risks and key assumptions are meeting customer business objectives

• Oversee creation of appropriate financial models / constructs in line with margins agreed at a practice and account level

• Provide input and feedback to sales management about trends and changes taking place within the customer’s organization, and make recommendations about future courses of action necessary to improve CenturyLink’s position with the customer

• Provide accurate and detailed weekly forecast funnel of identified and proposed opportunities in order to meet or exceed sales quotas

• Achieve quarterly, annual sales targets and drive profitable revenue growth through collaboration with the sales organization

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 8+ years of applicable experience, or 10+ years of applicable experience

• Experience in consultative sales techniques and account planning including account profiling, account positioning strategy, customer needs analysis, sales opportunity development, service improvement planning, and account management strategies

• Good understanding of IT strategy, the related issues facing CIOs and their decision processes

• Must have the technical knowledge and background to feel comfortable in a technical discussion with senior customer IT leaders and staff

• Strong financial and services knowledge with the ability to construct commercial contracts that include multiple types of pricing models, structuring agreements, and demonstrating ROI and TCO to clients

• Knowledge of the cloud hosting or hybrid cloud, transformation and managed services portfolio

• Aptitude of selling cloud based “as a service” offerings

• Network and cyber security experience preferred and will greatly help with cross selling efforts and broaden the value of CenturyLink to our clients

• Operations experience in professional and managed services of large and complex IT solutions is considered a plus

• Familiar with ITIL and PMP practices and procedures, able to describe value to customers

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, extensive presentation experience, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management

• Executive level negotiation and presentation skills
