Job Summary

This position is responsible supervising a team of Operation Managers / Leads.

Job Description

  • Monitors and reports process effectiveness and key performance indicators

  • Drives standardizing and improving consistent Global platform support

  • Implement process improvement strategies for department

  • Technical Crisis Manager for hosting systems when appropriate

  • Executes direction, goals, and priorities within Hosting Operations

  • Maintains collaborative relationships with key departments in the Company to build and maintain product engineering standards

  • Support Director to attain budget and business plan for department

  • Manage and monitor workload and development plans for team

  • Drive an accountable and collaborative culture to support Global platforms

  • Coach and mentor staff through regularly scheduled performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, and active participation in the professional development of the team members

  • Ensure consistent execution of all client and Savvis defined SLAs/SLOs

  • Collaborate with peer technology teams, process-improvement teams, and others to define and revise global standard practices and initiatives

  • Ensure identification, resolution or escalation of client issues according to procedural documentation and training

  • Champion efforts to constantly and measurably improve both client and employee satisfaction

  • Track and monitor critical metrics to measure the success of support efforts

  • Partner with essential stakeholders in the cooperative management of Database vendors, including but not limited to:

  • Ensure that vendors are actively troubleshooting incidents that occur within their scope of work

  • Confirm that vendors are adhering to service-level agreements (SLA)

  • Other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education & experience

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an enterprise, IT, or other service provider environment

  • Ability to quickly adapt to advancing technologies, procedural changes, and client demands

  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with other technologists and business partners to maintain high service levels in a very dynamic support environment

  • Ability to excel in a team environment

  • Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills

  • Passion to lead and manage a diverse technical team in support of a shared vision

  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, problem solving, and communication skills

  • Familiarization with SAS-70 and ITIL guidelines and practices

  • Theoretical and prior application of industry standard practices for support and process development and adherence

  • Ability to attract, retain, and develop a team of senior engineering resources

  • Ability to steer Database solutions, operational escalations and support effectively and efficiently


  • Master’s degree or equivalent education & experience

  • Hands on experience with one or more of the following technology areas:

  • Oracle/MySQL/DB2 Database Systems

  • Dataguard/RAC and other high availability and DB DR solutions

  • Linux Operating System

  • Virtualization technologies and Cloud databases

  • Experience with automation and scripting methodologies

  • Project Management experience

  • Understanding of FTS support model and Crisis Management

  • Experience with standard Leadership methodologies and instruments (Blanchard, Myers-Briggs, etc.)
